What is "Walking in Taft"?

"Walking in Taft" is my personal record of a six‐week sustainability experiment. Every day, I spend 30 minutes walking through various environments including Taft, my province, UP Diliman, and Greenbelt to explore what makes a truly inviting space for a stroll. These walks are my way of practicing mindfulness and reconnecting with my surroundings. Living with ADHD has taught me that intentional movement is essential for staying focused and escaping the constant pull of digital distractions.

This blog features six detailed entries that capture my experiences and reflections on both urban and provincial landscapes. Since Taft does not offer the ideal conditions for a walk at the moment, I examine alternative green spaces: the rural charm of Nueva Ecija, the small parks in Greenbelt, and the trees and gardens near UP Diliman. Each journey provides a fresh perspective on how even a modest amount of nature can boost mental clarity, improve well-being, and strengthen community ties.

My goal is not merely to document a daily exercise routine but to encourage a fresh look at how urban areas might better integrate nature. I invite readers to join me in reimagining our cities so that green spaces become a cornerstone of healthier and more connected communities.
